I originally painted Power with the intent of creating fortune telling cards. At the start of my spiritual journey, I discovered Tarot and was inspired to try creating my own deck. With animals as the focus, this was the perfect opportunity to expand my subject matter while exploring my spirituality as well. Divine Beasts is a series with a variety of animals that represent different aspects of the human experience. While caterpillars and butterflies could represent growth, this piece has its own meaning.
Tigers have long represented strength, courage, and raw instinct. They are apex predators in the wild, symbols of fearlessness and untamed beauty. But in Power, the energy shifts inward.
Bathed in a vivid hot pink glow, this tiger isn’t on the hunt. It’s in a moment of embodiment—fully aware of its strength and unafraid to stand still in it. The glow is not a shield but a reflection of something internal. Confidence. Self-worth. Radiance. Power is about owning the fire within. Not to overpower, but to exist boldly. To take up space. To be seen, without apology.
