I originally painted Affinity with the intent of creating fortune telling cards. At the start of my spiritual journey, I discovered Tarot and was inspired to try creating my own deck. With animals as the focus, this was the perfect opportunity to expand my subject matter while exploring my spirituality as well. Divine Beasts is a series with a variety of animals that represent different aspects of the human experience. While caterpillars and butterflies could represent growth, this piece has its own meaning.
Inspired by my relationship with my father and his love of birds, this piece represents finding comfort in others.
Parrots are known for their intelligence, communication, and deep social bonds. In many cultures, they represent loyalty, vibrant expression, and the importance of connection. They often thrive in pairs, forming lasting attachments built on trust.
